Tain Tours
Option 1: Bus Tour
Travel with Tain Tours on a historical journey through Cuchulainn country. Three hour guided bus tours, starting and finishing in medieval Carlingford. Explore Carlingford and the Cooley peninsula. Travel through the Cooley Mountains, visiting the legendary long woman's grave and taking in the breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.
Stop off at Riverstown, where you will learn the history of the Cooley distillery and sample some of the local whiskeys.
Option 2: Cycle and bus tour combined

From Carlingford cycle through the warm and welcoming landscape into the once thriving 19th century Port and Railway village of Greenore. Explore the hidden quiet roads and coastline of the peninsula, en-route we will stop at Lily Finnegans in Whitestown, a quaint and authentic Irish pub where you can quench your thirst.
From Lily Finnegans you will be transported by bus to Martins of Riverstown, where you will learn the history of Cooley distillery and sample some of the local whiskeys.
All groups catered for including Stag and Hen parties.
Option 3: Guided Mountain Walks

Come and walk the Cooley Mountains in the land of the legends. On a clear day the views are simply stunning from the summit of Slieve Foye Mountain.
Explore the famous Mourne wall while walking in the Mourne Mountains. (Transport from Carlingford by bus to the Mourne Mountains)

Bicycle Hire
Explore Carlingford and the Cooley Peninsula. As you cycle through this warm and welcoming landscape you will encounter the magnificent Cooley Mountains, breathtaking views of Carlingford Lough and the Mourne mountains. Choose you own route or one of our suggested routes.
Route A (32 km challenging route)
This route will take you via Slieve Foy mountain road with fantastic views of Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. En route visit Omeath Village as you cycle back to Carlingford along the coast road.
Route B (20km easy route with a few hills)
Alternatively explore the hidden quiet roads and coastline of the Cooley Peninsula. En route drop in and quench your thirst in ‘Lily Finegans’ a quaint authentic Irish pub in Whitestown. Continue on the coastal road to the heritage village of Greenore.
Bicycles specifications
Ladies and gents new touring bicycles: 21 speed with aluminum frame. Bicycles supplied with mudguards, rear pannier, repair kit, pump and lock.
