| Carlingford Wedding Fair - Celebrate in Carlingford Venue: In and around the Beautiful & Enchanting Medieval Town of Carlingford Sunday 16th September
The exhibition will open on Sunday 9th at 17.30pm and be on view until to Sunday 16th (Heritage Centre closed on Friday 14th for private function). So be sure to visit!
The historic Village of Carlingford offers a fairy-tale setting and a range of wedding venues for parties of 40 to 400. The beautiful and historic village, a mere hour from either Dublin or Belfast, has everything you will ever need for the special day of your life. It is a place of extraordinary beauty and charm “where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea”. Putting it simply it has everything to make your wedding the most magical day of your life. The opening in recent years of the M1 motorway has made getting there easy and fast. Just leave the motorway at exit 18, follow the signs and enjoy the scenic twenty minutes it will take to get to the village. Little wonder that it has gained a rich reputation as a wedding and wedding reception venue. On Sunday 16th September the many and varied venues in Carlingford will combine to host Ireland’s first “Destination Wedding Fair". Why not come along and view the many wedding/reception locations in the Village and be bamboozled by the variety and quality available. The Four Seasons Hotel can cater for as many as 400 but is equally adept with smaller numbers. It has become one of the favoured wedding reception venues along the North East Coast and is licensed for civil ceremonies. Ghan House has 18th century charm, spacious gardens and has gained an enviable reputation for wedding groups of around one hundred. It is also licensed for civil ceremonies. McKevitt’s Village Hotel is in the very centre of the Village. For something with a great local feel it will prove a wonderful location for a gathering of 100 or so. Another Village centre location is the Carlingford Arms, which offers a comprehensive reception service for 60 or less. New to the reception business is the wonderfully atmospheric “Wood Quay”. It is located on the harbour. Perhaps “in the harbour” describes its location better and it boasts its own private jetty under the magnificent ruins of King John’s Castle. It is suitable for 80 or less. Carlingford Sailing Club has a shore location and looks out over the beautiful Carlingford Lough. The Club can cater for a wedding of 100 or less and can become your own private clubhouse for the day. Carlingford’s Heritage Centre, a 13th century deconsecrated church, is within walking distance of the Village Centre and has built a reputation as one of Ireland’s best loved venues for civil ceremonies. It commands wonderful views over the Village of Carlingford, the Lough and the Harbour. Carlingford has, over the last 25 years, gained a wonderful reputation for the highest quality accommodation and dining with many award winning guesthouses and restaurants. To explore further go to www.carlingford.ie Pre wedding events are also well catered for here. There are mountains to walk, golf courses to play and the facilities of Carlingford Adventure Centre to help while your days away. At night there is an exceptional variety of entertainment venues. All of these locations - and more - will be open for viewing on Sunday 16th September from 12 noon.
