Beaches in the Carlingford Peninsula

Sea Swimming in Carlingford Lough and around the coast-line

There are lots of adventures to have on Carlingford Lough and the surrounding coastline, from organised sailing trips to swimming, pier jumping and picnics on the beach. The water in Carlingford Lough and the surrounding beaches is safe to swim and have fun in.

Carlingford

Has two piers and a small shoreline in front of the Sailing Club

Templetown Beach

This is a beautiful sandy beach ideal for swimming and picnics and family days at the beach. It has been awarded a blue flag and during the summer months there is a lifeguard on duty. On Sunny days and weekends it can be very congested, difficult to access and find parking. (See the map below)

Gyles Quay

This is a lovely sandy beach with a pier for pier jumping, and a scenic costal walk. There is a ramp and steps to access the beach and a car park.

It is close to Fergusons Caravan Park with a shop, Bar and Restaurant.
